Why do I need clients?

The client is the commissioner of a newsletter or another mailing. In the easiest case this client is the same one as the client in which your newsletter is sent. (You always see your delivery client on the top right side of your user interface.) But there can also be more complex connections. In this case an additional client is needed.

Different clients come into play in these cases:

Several newsletters

One case is when you want to dispatch several newsletters which have to be managed separately. Reasons for this may be:

  • separate processes for subscribing and unsubscribing
  • a separate report is required
  • different test delivery lists
  • discrete billing or accounting

In this case, you can set up different customers – different departments of your company, for example – as principals under Account > Client Management via the button Create new client.

Different customer

Use different clients when you send out newsletters for different customers and want to manage them separately. In this case, you can set up your customers as clients in the Account section in the same way as in the case above.

Multiple clients

Via the account settings button on the top right you can go to Companies & Clients. Then select the tab which also says Companies & Clients. You can now create a new client with the button on the bottom right.
