How do I create a new network tracking campaign?

The campaign type Network Tracking Campaign offers the possibility to perform a tracking campaign with multiple delivery partners. This type offers the advantage that you can assign several tracking partners to one campaign and one message. For each partner there will be an individual tracking link inserted automatically. You can then download these messages and make them available for the different delivery partners. In a collected reporting you will have an overview of all deliveries.

This is an additional feature of promio.connect. Would you like to use the campaign type Network Tracking Campaign? If so, please contact our support team via ticket.

Settings to be made

When the type Network Tracking Campaign was activated, you first have to create new tracking partners as clients. To do so, go to Administration > Companies & Clients and choose tab Companies & Clients. Add a tracking partner client by using action Create client.

Now select your new client in the list. Add a checkmark in its settings next to Client is tracking partner.

An individual parameter r=XYZ (instead of r=0) can be integrated into the links of the creatives for each list partner, e.g. for an easier analysis of the click behaviour (BOT clicks) of the individual partners. If you are interested, please contact our support team.

Set up a campaign

Go to Delivery > Drafts and create a new campaign with the botton on the bottom right, just as for each other type of campaign.

Select the type Network Tracking Campaign.

Add network partners to the campaign

When you are in the Details view of your new campaign you will find the button Network Information. Here all partners are listed which are available. Click on Add Network Partner to select those partners through whom the mailing will be sent and specify the number of recipients as well as the delivery date.

Setting up the messages

Now you can create new messages within the campaign with the button on the bottom right. If you want to add an existing message select the master template HTML/Text: Multipart. Choose a name, a subject and a sender („send from“).

Below Actions you can do the following:

Testmailing

Before each delivery you should start a testmailing. The delivery list can be adjusted at Settings > Test delivery list in the main menu.

Quality Control

Each mailing automatically goes through a quality check before sending. Here links, images etc. are getting checked.

Change URL replacement

Unless other presets have been defined, all links within a mailing are automatically replaced by measurement links. For some pages (e.g. unsubscribe), additional parameters for identification are appended. Here you can adjust these presets if necessary. Incorrect settings can affect the functionality of some links. If you have any questions, please contact your promio.net contact person.

Only one message can be set up with this campaign type!

Provide Campaign

To generate the tracking links for the different partners the campaign has to be provided. Your message will now be distributed to the selected partners.

If you make changes in the message after providing it don’t forget to provide it again. Otherwise the links can not be adjusted.

Download messages

After the quality control and you ideally did a testmailing you can now download the message and send it to the partners which can now set up their delivery.

Activate campaign

When the partners have set up, tested, and authorized their campaigns also the Network Tracking Campaign can be activated.

Before activating the campaign, it is recommended to reset the reporting so that the test opens and clicks are not included in the real statistics.

You can still alter the amount of recipients after the activation.

Deactivate campaign

Network tracking campaigns are not delivered via promio.connect. The reporting is used for statistical purposes only. That is the reason why you can`t find these campaigns in the queue. They can`t be cancelled, but they can be deactivated.
Choose the campaign under reporting > campaigns. Click the button deactivate at the top right.

After deactivation the campaign will be seen in the drafts and can you can edit it again.

If you make changes in the creative after a deactivation, you should make the amended creative available to the sender. This is necassary if you have added or removed links, because the link number has changed! It is possible to change a link target without changing the creative on the part of the sender.

If you want to reactivate a campaign and the reporting already shows measured values, you should NOT reset the values (measured data checkbox: reset values) to keep the previous measurement values.

Reporting

At Reporting > Campaigns you can now follow the Tracking Campaign with all partners in one summary.
