When does blacklist matching take place?

Matching against the blacklist will take place during various processes and operations. It ensures that no recipient on the blacklist will receive mailings from your client.

Automatic matching before delivery

Before the start of delivery, the assigned target group is automatically checked for unsubscribes and hard bounces. Affected addresses are excluded from the delivery process.

Before sending an opt-in mail to a new address, it is automatically checked whether the recipient's address is on the blacklist. If this is the case, the opt-in mail will not be sent.

Import of addresses

Manual import

If you import addresses via Addresses > Lists and then click on the button and choose Import addresses, a comparison will automatically take place during the upload process. In a target group’s log file you can see which addresses were filtered out because of the matching.

Also, when using the option Create target group by file, there will be no addresses put into the target group that are already on the blacklist!

Automatic import of

If you import addresses automatically, a comparison with the blacklist will take place at the same time. If the automatic import process generates a new target group, the log file of the matching can be seen in the target group details, just as in a manual import. When this process is putting the addresses into an auto target group successfully, the information is also available in the history of that target group.

Cleanup of target groups

Automatic daily cleanup of auto target groups

Auto target groups are checked for addresses on the blacklist on a daily basis. The unsubscribers in an auto target group can also be viewed in the target group statistics.

Manual cleanup of target groups

A target group (except for auto target groups) can be adjusted for blacklist entries by clicking the button Clean up (explicit: Unsubscriber, Hardbounces).
