How do I deliver newsletters regularly with the scheduler?

By using the scheduler, you can plan and control the regular delivery of an e-mail template as an event. You find the feature at Delivery > Scheduler.

Overview

Events

Creating a new event

Assign a name and a description for the event.

When you click Save, you will see the following screen:

If you click save, you will get the following image:

Define campaign

First, click on Define campaign. Give the campaign a name and optionally a campaign code. Select a client. You can select a newsletter from the drop-down menu if you want to write to a newsletter target group. If you want to use a different target group, define it in the Assign target group tab. Select the creative template you want to use.

A template must be saved as an email template under Content > Templates in order to be selectable here.

If the selected template is to be sent to newsletter recipients, the newsletter must be set up as a newsletter under Addresses > Lists > Newsletter.

Assign target group

The Assign target group tab is skipped and automatically gets a green check mark if you have defined a newsletter.
If this is not the case, you can select a target group here using the drop-down menu.
You also have the option of setting filters, exclusion filters, and a limit. If a limit is entered, you can specify the criteria according to which the addresses should be limited: by random selection, new addresses or active addresses

Set delivery time

Now you define the time at which the delivery should start. If you wish to receive test delivery prior to the real send-out, you can enter a time delay between test and real delivery here.

Set interval

Specify the rule by which the event is supposed to happen. For a daily delivery, e.g., select all at the calendar day, weekday, and month.

Define duration

Define when the first delivery should start. You can select a fixed end date or choose infinite.

Activate delivery

Activate test and real delivery here. The test delivery will be sent to all active addresses from the client’s test delivery list.

Test delivery: If you want to receive a test delivery before the real delivery starts, check the lower box. Delivery: If you want to activate the scheduler, check the upper box.

As soon as the new event is saved, you will be led to an overview with the upcoming event starts:

Via this view, all settings can be reviewed or edited. Also, you can see the upcoming events for the next three months.

Set up exceptions

In the overview of all planned events, some exceptions can be defined. For example, a send-out can be deactivated on a holiday. You may also change the time of a specific event or the delay between test and real delivery. All active exceptions are marked in the list.

Stop/delete a scheduled event: If you want to stop the ongoing deliveries, just set an end date and remove the checkmark next to delivery.
