====== Why do I need block lists? ====== A block list defines an auto target group assigned to a distinct client, i.e., each client has only one block list and vice versa. \\ When sending a mailing that is assigned to this client, the user IDs that are on an existing block list are filtered out of the delivery. \\ \\ In contrast to blacklists, block lists are therefore user-ID-based. They contain only registered/imported users of a database and do not allow supply blocking at a domain or email level. ===== Creating Block Lists ===== By clicking the floating action button on the bottom right, you generate a new block list. \\ {{:en:addresses_lists_create_blocklist.png?nolink&200|}} \\ Give it a name and assign the client/principal. Optionally, you can add a description. ===== Block list table ===== //Addresses -> Lists -> Block lists// {{:en:en_addresses_lists_blocklist1.png?nolink&700|}} In the list of all defined block lists, there are the //ID//, the //state of the block list// (active: check mark; inactive: no check mark), the //client// including the ID, and the name of each list. ===== Block list details ===== When you click on a single list, you will receive further details, e.g., the size of the list, the assigned auto target group and a listing of all email addresses that are part of this block list. With a click on the assigned target group, you will get to the log files of this auto target group. Here you find information about the manual adding of a target group to an automatic block list and other details. Use the pen symbol to activate or deactivate a block list or to change its name. ===== Adding addresses to a block list ===== A user can be added to a block list in different ways. For example: * Manual entry via promio.connect (//Addresses > Research//, tab //Block lists//) * Manual entry via promio.connect (//Addresses > Lists//: selecting one target group > Add to auto target group) * Personal unsubscription by a receiver through a click on the unsubscribe link (if it is configured this way) {{tag>block_lists auto_target_groups clients blacklist }}
