How to use special characters / symbols in subject?
Special characters or symbols can be inserted in the subject line.
Here you can find some symbols:
Step 1
Insert the symbol as entity. [example: entity of the dingbat “BLACK SCISSORS” is: ✂ ]
Many symbols you can insert via copy & paste, too.
4Byte utf-8 is not supported. Please use 3Byte UTF8 at the most, only codes up to 65535 (0xFFFF).
Step 2
Encoding of your e-mail must be utf-8. Please change this in the settings of your e-mail in tab More.
- Make sure you just use special characters in a way the subject is still understandable, if the symbol can not be represented.
- Special characters / symbols will not be displayed in every email client. Please test whether the display of the symbol works properly in the different clients, for example with the Inbox Preview of promio.mail.
