How does a split test work?

(not available in promio.mail.one)

In order to send a split test campaign, select “A/B test campaign” as campaign type when setting up a new campaign. In an A/B test, different designs or subject lines can be tested against each other in a pre-delivery. The main delivery to the winner begins automatically after a predefined period.

The settings necessary for an A/B test are made in this box. (screen)

  • Test duration: defines the interval between the A/B test and the full delivery in hours.
  • Winner parameters: the email for the main delivery can be determined based on the conversion, the clicks or the opens.
  • Target group: in contrast to default campaigns, the target group is selected at campaign level. It contains the addresses of the pre-delivery and the main delivery.
  • Test proportion: proportion of the target group to be used for the pre-delivery, as a percentage.

Please note that coupon codes cannot be used in an A-B test campaign.
