====== My first campaign setup in promio.connect ====== ===== Step 1: The login process ===== You can access promio.connect via the URL at www.promio-connect.com/login To log in to your client, enter your five-digit client ID, your username and your password. Once you have entered your login details, click on //Login//. If you have forgotten your password, click on //Forgot password// to have your login details sent to you. ==== Special case: Two-factor authentication is activated ==== If configured for you, your login has been secured with an additional two-factor authentication. In this case, enter your two-factor code if required. This is generated via a two-factor code app, which you can link to your account during configuration. ==== Special case: Your client uses the login process Single Sign-On ==== As an alternative login process to a username and password, a single sign-on login functionality can also be set up for your client. In this case, click on //Login with SSO//. You can find detailed instructions on the topic of login in this article: //"en:how_to_login"//. ===== Step 2: Create a mailing ===== To create a mailing, select the menu item //Delivery -> Drafts//. Click on //Delivery -> Drafts// in the menu. You can create a new campaign using the red button at the bottom right. Once you have named the campaign, you determine the client. This is usually your own company. Agencies often send mailings for other companies and can differentiate between clients by specifying the client. Clients can be created and viewed under //Management > Companies & Clients//. Now select the campaign type. You can choose between the standard campaign, the measurement campaign, the A/B campaign, the transaction campaign, or the auto campaign. If you now confirm with OK, you will be taken to the campaign settings. You can now find the created campaign under //Delivery -> Drafts//. The client description and campaign code can be set in the campaign details under //Settings//. The campaign can also be optionally assigned to an existing newsletter. You can create a new message using the button at the bottom right. To set up a campaign, please create at least one message by selecting a master template and then a message template. Customized templates, email builder, HTML/multipart email, and text email are available, as well as voice, web-push, app push, SMS, and print. Under //Settings//, you define the name, the sender, the sender name, and the subject for the message. You can now edit the HTML message below the settings. This area consists of the following tabs, which may vary depending on the email type. * **HTML**: Depending on the template selected, you have the option here of entering your own code for the HTML and text version or designing the mailing using a template. * **Text**: A different text version can be stored here. Otherwise, an automatic text version will be created by the system. * **Personalization**: Change the parameters for personalizing the preview. To personalize, click on //Placeholder// and select the parameter to be inserted. * **Inbox preview**: Get a preview of the email in over 70 popular webmailers and email clients here. * **Spam test**: Calculates the probability of being categorized as SPAM based on various filters. 15 clients, and server-based tests are available. In this article, you will find detailed instructions on how to create a campaign: //"en:how_to_create_a_campaign"//. You can find detailed instructions on creating a message with the email builder in the article //"en:e_mail_builder"//. Details on personalization can be found in the article //"en:how_to_personalize_emails"//. Below the message, you have the option of adding an attachment to the message. However, you should only do this in exceptional cases. We recommend making PDFs and other attachments available for download on the Internet and linking them in the message. You can find instructions on how to do this in the article //"en:campaigns_attachment"// ===== Step 3: Import an address distribution list and assign it to the mailing ===== To import address files into promio.connect, they must be in csv or txt format and comma- or semicolon-separated. There must be no blank lines or special characters, each column must contain standardized information, and the email addresses must be syntactically correct. By importing addresses, address data can be added to promio.connect manually or automatically. For a manual import, select //Import addresses// under //Addresses -> Lists// using the button at the bottom right. You can either upload the address data directly from your PC or store it on your client's SFTP server and import it from there. After a successful import, this address data is available in promio.connect as a target group under //Addresses -> Lists -> Target groups//. By assigning a target group to an email within a created campaign, you determine to which recipients the email is sent. You can make the assignment in the campaign details. To do this, click on the message to which a target group is to be assigned in the list of emails. In the Actions box, you can make the desired settings via Assign target group. If you want to make a selection within the chosen target group, you can select one or more previously created filters here. Filters and exclusion filters are available for the standard, network master, and auto campaign types. If you want to exclude certain users from your selected target group from the mailing, you can select one or more exclusion filters here. Filters and exclusion filters are available for the standard, network master, and auto campaign types. This article shows you how an address file must be structured in order to be imported: //"en:how_to_create_an_address_file"//. Here you will find instructions for the import process: //"en:how_to_upload_addresses"//. These instructions provide you with information on assigning an address list to a mailing: //"en:how_to_assign_email_to_target_group"//. ===== Step 4: Check the mailing with quality control ===== Before each mailing, check whether all settings, such as links, display of images, assignment to a target group, etc., are correct and how high the spam probability of the mailing is with the quality control. You can find this by clicking on the message of a campaign on the right under //Actions//. If all lines of the quality check are displayed in green, you can confirm the quality check for the message. If this is not the case, action is required. * Click on the respective line to expand or collapse it. * Warnings (yellow) should be checked and corrected if possible. Correction is not obligatory for the start of delivery. * Errors (red) must be corrected. If an email contains an error, you cannot send it. If you want to send a mailing, you must confirm the quality control of all emails contained in the campaign during the sending process. In this article you will find a detailed description of quality control as well as our tools Inbox Preview and Spamfiltertest, which you can also use to check your mailing: //"en:how_to_check_an_email"//. ===== Step 5: Start a test mailing to a test delivery list ===== Before each mailing, you should carry out a test mailing to check whether the mailing is received by the user as intended. You can find the test mailing by clicking on the message of a campaign on the right under //Actions//. Tick the box for the test address you want to select. Use test delivery lists that contain test addresses with detailed information to check whether placeholders, e.g., for personalization, are implemented correctly. Alternatively, you can also enter one or (comma-separated) several email addresses to which you can start an unpersonalized test mailing. You can create or customize a test delivery list under //Settings > Test delivery list//. You can find detailed instructions on the topic of test delivery lists here: //"en:how_to_use_test_delivery_list"//. ===== Step 6: Select a delivery date and activate the mailing for delivery ===== As soon as the campaign has been checked, you can authorize it. Depending on which setting has been made for your client, one or more people may need to approve it. The campaign can now be sent. You can select a delivery date or tick the box for immediate delivery. Before the campaign is finally sent, you can check the sending time again, tick //Refresh target group for delivery start// for another clean-up, tick //Reset values// to reset the openings, clicks, or conversions generated by tests, set the sending speed with an individual limit, and also send a copy of the mailing to the client's test mailing list by ticking //Additional copy at start of delivery//. The campaign is activated by clicking on //Send//. It can then no longer be found under //Drafts// and now appears under //Reporting//. In this article, you will find detailed instructions on sending a campaign under the menu item //Send campaign//: //"en:how_to_create_a_campaign"//. ===== Special case: Cancelling the delivery ===== If you have already activated the delivery start, but for some reason, e.g., late change requests, you still want to stop the campaign, you can do this under //Delivery > Queue//. Here you will find a list of campaigns that have already been activated for delivery. Campaigns that are waiting for delivery to start can be removed from the queue up to 5 minutes before delivery starts using the //Cancel delivery// action: Standard campaigns can also be cancelled or paused during delivery. This does not apply to A/B and network campaigns. You can find detailed instructions on how to stop a delivery here: //"en:how_to_cancel_a_campaign"//
