====== What is the difference between static target groups and auto target groups? ====== ===== Auto target groups ===== Auto target groups can be created manually or are created automatically when you create a newsletter or a block list. An auto-target group is always up to date and therefore constantly changes in size due to * the subscriptions and unsubscriptions within a newsletter * the nightly cleanup of negative list entries and hard bounces * registrations generated via an address interface * automatic imports (via an interface to an external CRM system or an automated import of addresses that were made available via SFTP) * an upload of addresses to the SFTP server * Adding target groups or filtered addresses to an auto-target group * manual cleanup * Automatic calculations that can be set up by promio.net * Daily automatic cleaning of addresses without channel opt-in in omnichannel clients ===== Static target groups ===== Static target groups are target groups that, unlike auto-target groups, are not automatically cleaned up. They are also automatically deleted after they have been used for a mailing unless they have been made read-only. Static target groups can be created by the following actions: * Imports * Copying target groups * Creating reactant target groups * Saving a filtered copy * Splitting * Matching with another client {{tag>Target groups Auto-target groups}}
